Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the official release, "A mysterious encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous changes reverberate through the shadows." The narrative features a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden sect.
The mission centers on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Changes
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Update
This update also brings the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime franchises. The series formerly featured a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
